As the traditional rite of passage into the SMU fraternity, our Freshmen Team-Building (FTB) Camps are not your usual orientation fare. As its name suggests, FTB Camps immerse freshmen in fun, exuberant and transformative adventures. Freshmen get to experience situational challenges, outdoors elements for self-discovery and participate in team building activities that emphasise the SMU CIRCLE values of commitment; integrity; responsibility; collegiality; leadership and excellence. Over three days and two nights, friendships are formed, leadership skills gained and the collegial spirit takes root.
Supporting Our Youths - SMU Arts Camp 2010
The SMU Arts and Cultural Fraternity (ACF) held its third successful run of the annual Arts Camp from the 25th to 27th July 2010. As an effort to support our youths, FoodXervices is proud to be a sponsor of food items such as GroXers Mini Cereal Pack and Purence Dew Drinking Water for the goody bag. In addition, we also sponsored mini tubs of KooriMo Premium Kuri Ice Cream as desserts for one of the meals.
Food Wastage Project
Food Waste Republic is a final-year project by three journalism students from the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University. They have transformed their passion for food into a series of illustrated stories that investigate the problem of food wastage in Singapore. The stories presented shed some light on how food wastage prevails in this country.

Alpha Biofuels and FoodXervices Inc are on a mission to develop an environmentally conscious community. To encourage recycling of used cooking oil into clean and sustainable biodiesel which can reduce our carbon footprint, Alpha Biofuels is collaborating with FoodXervices Inc to spread this green message. Through FoodXervices Inc’s extensive fleet of clients comprising large hotels and restaurants, Alpha Biofuels hope to be able to make a substantial impact towards climate change.
Information on how to recycle used cooking oil in a green way will be found on FoodXervices’ cooking oil labels. Local restaurants may now know of an alternative method to dispose their used cooking oil and at the same time do their part for the environment.
Alpha Biofuels (S) Pte Ltd is a Singapore company dedicated to the recycling of used cooking oil (UCO) into renewable and sustainable biodiesel. Currently the only company in Singapore that retails biodiesel, Alpha Biofuels is on a mission to increase the awareness of clean energy. Collaborating with F&B establishments in Singapore to recycle their UCO into biodiesel, Alpha’s recycling partners comprises of hotels, restaurants, schools, convention and shopping centers. Alpha biodiesel can be use in diesel vehicles and machineries. Since 2008, more than 1 million litres of Alpha biodiesel have been distributed locally, bringing a reduction of green house gases by 2.5 million kilograms. Some of the companies using Alpha biodiesel are Botak Jones, Singtel, SMART taxis etc. To engage communities to reduce climate change effectively, Alpha Biofuels also focuses heavily on outreach programs working with schools and grassroots organizations.

ONE (SINGAPORE)
ONE (SINGAPORE) is dedicated to raising public awareness and taking concrete actions to Make Poverty History. Every three seconds a child dies from extreme poverty. But it doesn't have to be this way. The resources and technology exist in the world today to transform the hopes and dreams of an entire generation. From 17 - 19 October 2008, ONE (SINGAPORE)'s supporters joined 117 million people from 131 countries in "Stand Up and Take Action Against Poverty" to call on world leaders to do the right thing and honour their commitments to end poverty. FoodXervices Inc is supporting ONE (Singapore) in its actions to Make Poverty History! On 17 October 2009, FoodXervices Inc collaborated with ONE (Singapore) to organise “Every ONE Can”, a warehouse sale with a heart that aimed to benefit at least 900 low-income Singaporean families.

At FoodXervices, we believe that Recyling is the way to preserve our future.
Although we may not go green all the way yet, but we hope that minimising the use of Plastic Crates and New Cardboard Boxes, we are doing our part for the environment. With so many deliveries a day, you can see how much boxes we are saving just by using recycled ones
